Cell proliferation and cell cytotoxicity/viability are important biological parameters for the assessment of immune responses, cell responses to drugs or biological response modifiers such as chemotherapeutics and cytokines. The Ziva product line offers ultrasensitive assays for cell viability, proliferation, and cytotoxicity in non-radioactive formats using a 96-well ELISA plate. These assays would be ideal for areas including immunological, cancer, and stem research for those who need to reduce cell sample requirements and observe biological events not previously obtainable by conventional methods. Ziva-CPA compared with the cell proliferation “gold standard”---3H-thymidine incorporation Ziva was compared with the “Gold Standard” of proliferation: tritiated thymidine. P815 mouse mastocytoma cells were pipetted in triplicate wells and labeled in the presence of BrdU (red) overnight. A duplicate plate was labeled with 1 µCi 3H-thymidine/well (blue) overnight.
